Research and planning: What is a music video?

There is a music video to go along with a song. Music videos are primarily used to market and promote the sale of music recordings, while some bands may decide to create one for purely artistic purposes. Music videos can be made using a wide range of filmmaking styles, such as animation, live animation, and non-narrative ones like abstract film. Some music videos might only be recordings of songs being performed live and not have a set theme.

The purpose of a music video includes:

1. To promote the song and elicit an emotional response in order to make the listener remember the song.

2. To help the listeners comprehend the song better.

3. To amuse and display the artistic abilities.

4. Marketing to increase the artist's profile and gain exposure.

5. To market CDs, DVDs, and downloads by producing eye-catching images.

The overarching goal is to bring in money for the record label.
