Research and planning: Representation in Music Videos

What is the technical meaning of representation?

Because meaning is created by mise en scene, camera work, editing, and sound, whenever an event, group of people, or topic is conveyed through a media text, it becomes a representation because the full truth of a situation cannot be fully given. Stereotypes are frequently used in representation to make issues, groups of people, and events simpler to identify, but this raises its own problems that are discussed in a number of theories. As any other form of media literature, music videos produce representations from which viewers can derive their own unique interpretations.

What is music representation?

The technique of utilising music to represent real people, things, or events is known as musical representation. This is easiest to do for sounds or objects with distinctive sounds that music can obviously replicate or emulate. Yet, the field of musical representation may extend beyond this to encompass actual events that can be heard in music or that may be inferred from a musical passage. Even in the lack of a jarring aural resemblance between the music and the occurrence in question, this perception may nevertheless exist due to certain structural similarities or isomorphisms between the two.
